Our Story

Angler Los Angeles is a creation of the Michelin-starred team behind Saison and Angler in San Francisco. The space has recently undergone a transformative design shift, including a new entrance on La Cienega and more intimate dining room vignettes.

The menu honors Angler’s signature touch of fire and smoke – courtesy of the open hearth, while incorporating references to Chef Paul Chung’s Korean heritage and the rich cross-cultural tapestry of food in Los Angeles.

Space

In collaboration with John Sofio of Built, Inc, the Angler team has thoughtfully kept the hearth as the centerpiece of guest dining while reimagining the main room to create a more intimate experience with whimsical wallpaper and a color palette of blues, greens, and golden yellows. A reinvented lounge and bar area is perfect for snacks and cocktails.
In collaboration with John Sofio of Built, Inc, our space has been designed to foster a variety of social experiences, from plush intimate booths to striking wood tables front and center. The lounge and bar is ideal for snacks, cocktails, and great conversation. Our hearth and live fish tanks remain the centerpiece of the room. Whimsical wallpaper and textiles offer rich blues, greens, and golden yellows.

Beverage

Complementing the kitchen’s playful and innovative menu, Saison Hospitality Co-founder and Wine Director Mark Bright has created a bar program highlighting large format cocktails great for sharing in a redesigned lounge space featuring grand presentations, plus an extensive wines-by-the-glass program, several highlighting selections from Saison Winery. The ethos of the culinary program focused on California’s diverse local ingredients and live fire is felt in parallel with the cocktail menu.
Saison Hospitality Co-Founder & Wine Director Mark Bright and Angler LA Bar Manager Yanni Pediaditis have created a cocktail program highlighting large format options ideal for sharing and playful presentations utilizing local ingredients to complement the cuisine. Bright has curated an extensive wines-by-the-glass program, with several selections from Saison Winery.

Team

Angler is a sea-life focused restaurant with views of the expansive wood burning hearth as well of the San Francisco Bay from Chef Joshua Skenes and Saison Hospitality located on the Embarcadero waterfront.
